Here are the emails between Livermore City Attorney Jason Alcala (and other attorneys) and the FPPC to get Councilmember Ben Barrientos blocked from discussing and voting on the Garaventa Hills Project. In the email Alcala claims to be acting “on behalf of” Barrientos. Alcala wants to know if Barrientos can be blocked because Ben publicly advocated against the project before he was a council member - this was not mentioned in the final FPPC opinion letter. Alcala also wants to know if he can block Ben by the fact that Ben has a house in the district of the building. Follow up emails claim that the FPPC asked Livermore to follow up with Ben regarding Traffic and Home Values and that they say Ben said his property value would rise and traffic would increase.
